Forming Naturally Enquiring Minds at Treetop Tuition

There is more than simply exam success. With large numbers of students achieving the top grades at GCSE and A-Level, universities are looking for more. Treetop learning centre which is affiliated with Oak Heights School focuses on developing self-learning techniques and encouraging intellectual curiosity to allow students to build a more well rounded knowledge about subjects of interest outside of simply what is tested in an exam. This leads to the development of naturally enquiring minds in students which universities find particularly attractive especially in subjects with an interview based selection process ( Medicine, Dentistry and a vast majority of courses available at Oxford and Cambridge)
Often there is an emphasis on "spoon-feeding" students. We feel that this is counterproductive. Our tutors and teachers facilitate the development of self-learning techniques which allow a student to solve unfamiliar and challenging tasks without excess external help. In doing so, students feel a sense of accomplishment when completing such tasks. These self-learning techniques will prove vital in the future in assisting with the independent nature of university and especially in careers such as Medicine and Dentistry where life-long learning is required.
Our focus at TreeTop Learning centre also branches away from academics. We have links with local clubs and centres as well as the exclusive Oak Heights independent School to provide opportunities for taking part in sport or perhaps learning to play a new instrument. In doing so, we hope to provide a relief from academia while developing confidence in students. In addition, this will aid in their progression as well-rounded individuals, a trait particularly attractive to universities and other institutions.
