Oak Heights avoids the straight approach of learning solely for the purpose of passing relevant examinations and strives to implement innovative, fresh and cutting-edge methods of teaching so as to encourage broad-minded mentality and comprehension. Each student has their own special talents – some are brilliant at sport, others in drama and a few just have the innate ability to debate over anything and everything affecting society today. When it comes to teaching, emphasis is placed on examination technique, especially with the upper years. Past paper questions for homework and tests, once key topics have been covered. Teaching is carried out in small groups and designed to achieve rapid learning. All subject teachers are qualified and experienced but classes are closely monitored, regardless, by teaching assistants and the principle himself.
