Week beginning 25th January 2016 in Oak Heights School and the Exam centre in Hounslow

Independent schools, in general, are more successful than state schools achieving higher grades, striking the national average of 25.9%. Students who attend Independent school are more likely to attend good universities compared to any other funded school. Besides their strength in traditional academic subjects, independent schools offer a wide and varied co-curricular life.
Oak Heights Independent School is located in the heart of Hounslow in west London and is home to many intelligent students who are expecting to achieve high GCSE grades. At Oak Heights we prioritise GCSE grades and expect each student to achieve the highest possible grade which they are capable of achieving. As well as grades, Oak Heights promotes discipline and behaviour. We do no tolerate any form of misbehaviour. Having our rules and morals which are specifically designed for students to follow, we expect all students to follow them accordingly, failure to do so will result in a sanction or possibly even exclusion. Through maintaining an unwavering disciplinary stance, the focus continually remains on teaching meticulously designed programs, which encompass all of the strengths of the national curriculum as well as other social dimensions to facilitate effective learning. Career success is of utmost priority.
Oak Heights avoids the straight approach of learning solely for the purpose of passing relevant examinations and strives to implement innovative, fresh and cutting-edge methods of teaching so as to encourage broad-minded mentality and comprehension. Each student has their own special talents – some are brilliant at sport, others in drama and a few just have the innate ability to debate over anything and everything affecting society today. Individuality is cherished in a way that allows the students to think for themselves and pursue their interests and strengths and ultimately, build upon their self-confidence. All subject teachers are qualified and experienced but classes are closely monitored, regardless, by teaching assistants and the principle himself. Homework is set in all subjects and the School places particular importance on regular testing. Our staff team work hard to set a positive example and challenge negative views and opinions. Our curriculum seeks opportunities to utilise issues and attitudes as a source of exploration and learning in order to better equip young people with knowledge of the outside world.
At Oak Heights we advise our students to revise during the weekends to ensure they are going over the class work and completing homework. There are no excuses for students not completing homework as homework is sent to parent's personal emails everyday and reviewed by the principle himself.
