Forming Naturally Enquiring Minds at Treetop Tuition

There is more than simply exam success. With large numbers of students achieving the top grades at GCSE and A-Level, universities are looking for more. Treetop learning centre which is affiliated with Oak Heights School focuses on developing self-learning techniques and encouraging intellectual curiosity to allow students to build a more well rounded knowledge about subjects of interest outside of simply what is tested in an exam. This leads to the development of naturally enquiring minds in students which universities find particularly attractive especially in subjects with an interview based selection process ( Medicine, Dentistry and a vast majority of courses available at Oxford and Cambridge)
Often there is an emphasis on "spoon-feeding" students. We feel that this is counterproductive. Our tutors and teachers facilitate the development of self-learning techniques which allow a student to solve unfamiliar and challenging tasks without excess external help. In doing so, students feel a sense of accomplishment when completing such tasks. These self-learning techniques will prove vital in the future in assisting with the independent nature of university and especially in careers such as Medicine and Dentistry where life-long learning is required.
Our focus at TreeTop Learning centre also branches away from academics. We have links with local clubs and centres as well as the exclusive Oak Heights independent School to provide opportunities for taking part in sport or perhaps learning to play a new instrument. In doing so, we hope to provide a relief from academia while developing confidence in students. In addition, this will aid in their progression as well-rounded individuals, a trait particularly attractive to universities and other institutions.

Physics Lab -- Oak Heights School - Hounslow

As a part of Oak Heights Independent School's recent refurbishment, we have had the opportunity to modernise and expand our science facilities. Our brand new laboratory allows our students to participate in science projects alongside their academic studies giving them a deeper understanding of the subject. This means they are able to fully engage with the methods used in physics, biology and chemistry and gain hands on experience with relevant, up to date and safe equipment.

As one of the oldest academic disciplines we believe that the sciences should play a central role in our student's education. Our Labs allow students to have a well rounded learning of subjects such as physics which in turn help them to explore the fundamental mechanics of other academic areas such as Mathematics.

We are proud to have former students that have benefited greatly from our original science facilities achieving A* grades and progressing onto highly accredited sixth forms. We are confident that our newly refurbished labs will only further improve our already excelling students.

Oak Heights and Treetop learning centre

Oak Heights is an independent school that strives to nurture, educate and cultivate the most adventurously bright, intellectual spirits to produce top future professionals. Through maintaining an unwavering disciplinary stance, the focus continually remains on teaching meticulously designed programs, which encompass all of the strengths of the national curriculum as well as other social dimensions to facilitate effective learning. Career success is of utmost priority. Both staff and students alike coordinate well in sharing the vital determination to pave the pathways to achievement; be it in the Law, Medicine, Finance or Arts employment sectors.
The school is renowned for having a very selective admissions policy. A deliberate low overall intake of students serves to ensure a very high standard of regulation and accountability amongst our members. It also means the ideal level of academic, personal and social support received by students is maintained throughout their academic pursuits.
Oak Heights fully recognises the importance of innovative teaching approaches in order to instil inspiration in the aspiring minds of students. The passionate, enthusiastic and encouraging attitude employed by teachers is demonstrated through excellent exam results. Motivating students to realise their own potential is a key aim at Oak Heights so that belief in their own capabilities is infused; an invaluable confidence to help them overcome any future challenges.
Our academic timetable highlights the emphasis we place on the development of numeracy and literacy. Consistent effort is also made to develop inquiring minds and sound study habits. Cultural and artistic awareness is never neglected and students become experienced in formulating their own opinions over current affairs by daily discussions and debates over both key national and worldwide concerns. School trips and excursions are frequently organised to enhance this exposure, implanting the seeds for well-rounded personal growth.
Each student has their own special talents – some are brilliant at sport, others in drama and a few just have the innate ability to debate over anything and everything affecting society today. Individuality is cherished in a way that allows the student to think for themselves and pursue their interests and strengths and ultimately, build upon their self-confidence.
Oak Heights School now works with Treetop learning centre, Hounslow's solution to tuition. With large numbers of students achieving the top grades at GCSE and A-Level, universities are looking for more. Treetop Learning centre focuses on developing self-learning techniques and encouraging intellectual curiosity to allow students to build a more well rounded knowledge about subjects of interest outside of simply what is tested in an exam.
