At Oak Heights, it has been a very eventful year in 2016. We have had competitions, school trips and fundraising events. We have held a very successful Raffle, students and teachers bought tickets to get their chance in winning a selection of vouchers. A total of £63 was raised which will be going towards The Mulberry Centre.
In aid of Sport Relief, the Student Council arranged a charity fundraising 5 a-side Football Tournament. This proved to be quite a challenging morning for the students out in the cold. Regardless of the unpredictable weather and injuries the tournament still went on and Team A won the tournament.
In addition to the fundraising we also arranged a Sports Mufty day where students were required to donate a £1 to wear something sporty. A Bake Sale was also held to raise money for charity. Cakes and cookies were baked by students and teachers and were sold for 50p each. So a big Thank you to the students and teachers for donating the yummy cakes.
We have raised an amazing total of £123. Thank you for all the donations, its all going towards a good cause.
Our year 11 students have finally completed their GCSE’s this week. Its been a tough few weeks but they have worked really hard. The GCSE and GCE results for the May/June series will be released in August 2014. Please refer to the Oak Heights website for dates. Good Luck to all the students for their future.
The Rounders Tournament is only 2 weeks away. The Student Council are in full flow preparing for the tournament, organizing the game fixtures and finalizing the rules. Good Luck to all the students…lets hope the weather holds.
In order to keep the students fit and active Sports lessons are arranged every Tuesday and Friday mornings. Swimming takes place every Tuesdays, and Sports every Friday. We would like to welcome Ash to the team, our new multi coach. Every Friday he coaches the students in Athletics, Football, Dodge ball and Netball. A fun way to build on the students strength, stamina and upkeep of their physical fitness.
Science week commences next week for the students, where they can experience working in a science lab. The students will take part in experiments to enable them to understand more about Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Competitions will also be held to make it more fun and exciting.
Revision week also commences next week in preparation for the end of year exams. The students will be going through all their work covered this term and doing practice exam questions to prepare themselves for their end of year exams.
