Oak Heights school in Hounslow, Hounslow solution to an independent CoEd secondary school

Oak Heights school is an independent, private secondary school in Hounslow central. Located just off the Hounslow high street and walking distance from the London Underground. Oak Heights school in Hounslow has been established for 10 years now and the school has made huge progress from 2006. The school has been rated by Ofsted again as a good school which is a huge achievement considering the new common framework introduced by the DFE is more challenging than the previous framework. Schools that have achieved at least a good rating from Ofsted are to be congratulated as the framework is more in depth.
Oak Heights school in Hounslow has currently 5 classes from year 7 - 11. Each class on average is about 18 students. The school chooses to cover some aspects of the national curriculum and has a huge emphasis on sports. Swimming is conducted once a week where students are taught by professional qualified teachers. Swimming is an important skill to learn especially now that most mainstream schools choose not to offer this to secondary school students. We have been offering swimming as part of our curriculum for the past 10 years and hope that this will continue for many more years.
Oak Heights school is a small independent school with nor more than 80 students. We at Oak Heights school believe that small class sizes means that we are able to deliver excellent lessons without having to manage overcrowded classes. This becomes a huge challenge for a lot of our teachers today but not a challenge here in Oak Heights School.
Many of our post students have been in touch with us to congratulate what we have managed to achieve today. With better resources, modern technology in use we are able to deliver exciting lessons to our students today. Programmes such as Activelearn and Mymaths is now being used in Oak Heights school.
Many of our post students are now either in Universities or in a professional line of work. The school is very proud to here that many of our post students have either become Doctors, Lawyers, Business people and investment bankers.

At Oak Heights we prioritise GCSE grades and expect each student to achieve the highest possible grade which they are capable of achieving. As well as grades, Oak Heights promotes discipline and behaviour. We do no tolerate any form of misbehaviour. Having our rules and morals which are specifically designed for students to follow, we expect all students to follow them accordingly, failure to do so will result in a sanction or possibly even exclusion. Through maintaining an unwavering disciplinary stance, the focus continually remains on teaching meticulously designed programs, which encompass all of the strengths of the national curriculum as well as other social dimensions to facilitate effective learning. Career success is of utmost priority.
Oak Heights avoids the straight approach of learning solely for the purpose of passing relevant examinations and strives to implement innovative, fresh and cutting-edge methods of teaching so as to encourage broad-minded mentality and comprehension. Each student has their own special talents – some are brilliant at sport, others in drama and a few just have the innate ability to debate over anything and everything affecting society today. Individuality is cherished in a way that allows the students to think for themselves and pursue their interests and strengths and ultimately, build upon their self-confidence. All subject teachers are qualified and experienced but classes are closely monitored, regardless, by teaching assistants and the principle himself. Homework is set in all subjects and the School places particular importance on regular testing. Our staff team work hard to set a positive example and challenge negative views and opinions. Our curriculum seeks opportunities to utilise issues and attitudes as a source of exploration and learning in order to better equip young people with knowledge of the outside world.
At Oak Heights we advise our students to revise during the weekends to ensure they are going over the class work and completing homework. There are no excuses for students not completing homework as homework is sent to parent's personal emails everyday and reviewed by the principle himself.
